During my years living and working in Japan, I took many trips around the country and across the region. In my newest photo book, now available on Apple Books and Amazon, I take the reader through some of my explorations sharing cultural insights along the way.
Living in a small town in western Japan gave me the opportunity to discover the local drumming traditions that take place to celebrate the nature spirits of the harvest festival and unlocked a years-long exploration of other folk percussion styles from around the world.
If you’re thinking of traveling to Asia in the near future, take a browse through my photos to gain inspiration for some lesser known destinations. I hope you enjoy this amazingly rich region’s history, arts and culture.
